We have discussed our finalized mockups with the people in charge and I am now in the process of getting as much done as possible before the summer ends. I will be working remotely the week of 8/20 because I am planning to go home for a week before school starts.
Last Wednesday I met with Dean, Graylin, and Stefan to discuss the mockups I have made. I will am making some of the changes we discussed and we will meet again with Dean soon to finalize what the changes will be before I begin implementing them.
Some of the main things that need to be improved or added are:
1. making the hopepage less Google-like and more of a useful dashboard that shows recent updates.
2. sorting legislation by a "recently updated" criteria
3. adding graphical displays (to show the bill's progress through the process of it getting passed
4. an FAQ section and a section explaining helpful information to inexperienced users
5. the ability to show the differences between separate versions of a bill
Currently I am using Balsamiq to develop mockups. These mockups will be reviewed by Graylin Kim, Dean Hill, Ken Zalewski, Stefan Crain and others before any changes to the code are made.
